How to Use a Beauty Blender?
Wet the sponge with water. One of the biggest mistakes you can make with a beauty blender is using a dry sponge to apply makeup and skin care products. Soak it under the sink to fully soak before use. This expands the sponge so it won’t absorb most of your beauty products. [1]
You can moisten your beauty blender with warm or cold water, but your application may be more refreshing if you use cold water.
If you can’t use the sink while using the sponge, you can moisten it with bottled water, or spray liberally with your favorite fixative spray to keep it moist.
Squeeze the sponge to remove excess moisture.
While you want your beauty blender to be damp while you’re using it, it doesn’t have to be damp. Gently squeeze the sponge to remove excess moisture before applying makeup or other products.
Beauty blenders are quite delicate, so don’t wring out the sponge to remove the moisture. You can rip or tear it apart.
While squeezing the sponge, wrap it in a clean towel or paper towel. This will help absorb excess moisture.
Moisturize the beauty blender as needed.
If you have makeup on, the sponge may start to dry out when you apply it. To make sure you get perfect results from the first to the last step of your makeup, keep a bottle of water, facial mist or mist handy for a rainy day. The sponge can be slightly moistened. [3]
BeautyBlender also creates a reactivating spray to moisturise the sponge if it starts to dry out during use.
Use a beauty blender.
Apply makeup sponge. Use BeautyBlender to apply foundation, concealer, blush, highlighter, setting powder, or other facial makeup by pressing a damp sponge into makeup. Don’t press too hard or you may pick up too much product.
For makeup products such as foundation, tinted moisturizer, BB cream or concealer, it can be helpful to apply a small amount to the back of your hand and then use a sponge.
Run a beauty blender all over your face.
After applying some makeup to the sponge, dab the rounded bottom onto the skin to apply the makeup. Don’t use a sponge on your face, just dab or press makeup into your skin for a flawless finish.
Apply the sponge to the skin until all makeup is evenly blended. It may take several strokes on the same area to fully blend the look.
You don’t have to press the sponge too hard against the skin to blend your makeup. Let it bounce slightly and let the sponge do the rest.
Use the pointed tip to apply makeup to small areas.
To apply concealer or foundation under the eyes, around the nose, lips, or any other small area, press the tip of the beauty blender against the skin. You need to apply more pressure than the rounded edge to ensure the makeup blends into the skin.
